Alfa 156 Key/Immobilizer question
Recently I purchased an Alfa 156 2.5 v6, the previous owner told me he had 2 keys for it but when he brought it in from out of town, he'd realised he'd forgotten the other key. He informed me that the key he had forgotten was older and he wasn't completely sure it would still be coded to start the car.
The key he gave me starts the car fine and everything, the only problem is the button on it doesn't seem to do anything and the little LED light on the actual keys case doesn't flash or turn on at all.
He went overseas for a short period of time but told me he would contact me once he was back to send the other key to me just incase it still worked. I recieved it today and the electrics seem to work on it (light flashes when I push the button) but I get incorrect code warning when I start my car.
My question is, am I able to take the electrics from the key that isn't able to start my car and put them into the key that works?
