It was a W reg, looking at Alfadiag,s list I noticed the M1.5.5 and I have probably gone for the wrong ECU., the car is not here now , but looks like it will be coming back for further investigation for noisy tappet at around 2500 revs, I can only assume at the moment that either its been timed wrong or a bucket has gone, it sits and idles too high and can sound normal, then it lowers the idle speed and can be tappety, a lot of this can be due to MAF but as I say when I use the right ECUfor examination I can,t be certain, although it appears as a fault on ME3.1 TOTALLY WRONG ecu now I see!
Would I be right in saying that if the car has been timed without camlocks then we can assume that it would touch a valve just one tooth out?
PS The owner is sending me the VIN so that I can establish the correct year for manufacture on EPER.
Anyway onwards and outwards to another gtv and engine replacement and still got the 147 Selespeed to fix--------------nightmare!
