Selling My 156 3.0 V6
Well unfortunately the Alfa has to go, a combination of a job change (further to travel and need something smaller) and the fact that we are considering the new Giuletta when it arrives is now forcing me to sell. The car is on a 2000 X-plate and has covered a total of 91,000 miles.
The car does need some work, the Cosmos Blue paint has dulled and has peeled away slightly on the sills. The paint may come back to life with a professional polish treatment - it looks great from 10metres away, although closer up it is starting to dull.
The engine conversion was done by Ital Autos in Derbyshire at a cost of £1700 last August, and I have put around 8,000 miles on the recon' engine and it is still under warranty until August this year.
The gearbox has started to develop a rattle, this was diagnosed as the "first motion shaft bearing" starting to wear (by Jamie Porter), although he did say that this is not a major issue at the moment.
The car has Eibach roll bars front and back, new drop links, genuine wishbones (upper and lower - uppers fitted with Powerflex bushes) and a front upper OMP strutbrace - all fitted in January this year. I have also fitted a Koni adjustable sport kit (shocks and springs) all round and upgraded top-mounts.
The car has also had its aircon regassed a few months back with a new pollen filter. I also had a custom exhaust made with decat pipe (I have the original) at a cost in excess of £720.
Everything works as it should, the interior is beige Momo leather with a upgraded Momo gearknob as the original fell apart! There are no warning lights on the dashboard, including the airbag light - absolutely nothing. The car drives excellently and I also fitted a new Lambda sensor earlier today after being diagnosed as faulty with AlfaDiag. There are GTA style headlights also fitted and the excellent AutoDelta intake kit which cost me over £200.
Off the top of my head, the car is MOTd until September (sorry I am at work!) and I have put 6 months tax on the car.
Ideally I do need quite a quick sale - if anyone is interested I am able to send photos. But please no silly offers. The car has a massive service history, I know it is not perfect, but please feel free to make me an offer.
Very regretable sale, I do need to sell though due to work circumstances and needing a smaller engine car, and the other half really has set her heart on the Guiletta, so I cannot afford both!
P.s. - forgot to mention the massive service history this car has. Over £9000 in receipts!
