Re: should i pay 1500$ for rims and install brembo kit or should i not
I feel for you,
I went through this pain last year, had slightly modded my TS and the bug had bitten, I ws sat there in september, warranty up thinking I've some money in my pocket do I go crazy and let Jano @ autodelta have a play sort out all the rattles ect and give me oodles more power or do I trade her in and buy something else...
I'dve booked jano and all but he was off visiting Greece and then doing some motorshows so there was a good month before I could try and schedule anything, went out there and looked both alfa and non alfa - test drove everything Saab 9-3/Jag X-Type/C class/Golf R-32/Leon even a skoda vRS, nope had to be mine or another alfa 156.
I visited a half decent Alfa dealer not too far from home and went through the new/nearly new models he had JTDS's V6's and there was this drop dead gorgeous GTA ex alfa fleet but a little over budget... drove the lot, fell in love the wife even called it "Sex on Wheels", went home and did the numbers insurance, tax, repair work - the old one would need new wishbones, belts, tyres, brakes, fuel...
Head said JTD - Heart said GTA, wallet said stick and have a little ferkle.
Alfa is from the heart, the GTA is costing me more to run but it's a GTA, I alwas wanted a "special car" an Alfa V6, always said I'd do it one day.
You've got the V6, it's the essence of Alfa, I suppose what I',m saying is if you can find something out there that does it for you more than what you have now - do it if you can... you only live once. but for me in the UK there is nothing with the soul to match an Alfa, I was tempted and I tried but the grass is not greener and I'm more sure of the right car for me because of it..
sorry for the length....
