147 service parts caused engine failure
I had my 147 seviced at a recommended Alfa indie 6 months ago. The car is now in another Alfa indie, to replace the engine!
All the parts that failed which led to the engine ceasing were replaced by the servicing garage in december (6 months ago) for a considerbale sum. It had a cambelt change, 72K service, new head gasket, new oil filter.
It was the oil filter and the head gasket that failed, which led to the engine overheating, piston rings melting, compression loss (cylinder 1) etc.
I'm now looking at a bill for about £3000 to replace the engine
What would you do? Take it up with original servicing garage for a claim for the costs?, how would you go about it? Anyone had a similar problem?
Would appreciate any advice.
