Alfa Romeo 156

Help Veloces Of London

I'm looking at a nice 156 there. Seem a bit pricey but nothing to bad. Nice spec and colour for price.

Its an easy 80 miles away so i dont want a wasted journey.

But has anyone ever brought a car from them? They seem quite good, professional and i guess you get what you paid for right?

This is a car i'm looking at keeping long term so good and bad experiences welcomed!

Thanks guys!

a little tip I was told was not let on to a dealer you have travelled a long way to look at a car as it makes you less powerful for haggling. Say you were just passing, show interest in another car and then you may be interested in the 156 as an aside and they will sell it to you.

Do a search of this vendor on here. They are not official dealers, but they may as well be for the prices they charge If you do a search you will see a catalogue of complaints (particularly servicing) and ludicrously high retail prices.

You'll find complaints because that's how forums work isn't it? It's rare that people start threads to compliment.

Personally, I've had good service from Hiron and the guys there and I'm reletively happy with the car I got from them.

Not necessarily. We have two 'sticky threads' in the General Discussion lounge where people are invited to post positive reports with respect to both official dealerships amd independent specialists. This Forum is actually more positive than you think And it's here to help everyone, and to point the way to the good in the hope of avoiding the not so good.

I bought my GT from them 3 years ago. Yeah, sometimes they were a bit curt (depends when you catch them I think) but they helped me find the car I wanted and they promised me heated seats as part of the deal, which after a bit of chasing and a year of waiting they supplied when next they had a heated car the right colour. Price seemed fair enough to me at the time, but that's really a judgement for you to make depending on the car. Don't forget from a dealer it has a 3 month warranty.

So generally positive from me.

I turned things around and sold my car to them.

They seemed fine, paid a fair price and it was all done in a couple of hours.

I found these people on the net whilst I was searching for a part, the only thing was that I managed to save myself over 60% by getting the part elsewhere. Quite alarming when its the same part !!

Alfa Red GT Q2

I bought my GT from Veloces. Only real complaints are that the front wheels were a bit kerbed (I should have spotted them before completing the purchase and got them fixed!!) and there is also an annoying knock from the rear - probably the rear shocker bushes as it sounds exactly like the noise my 156 used to make (not so much of a problem as I have 12 months warranty)

As a 9.5K miles car it should really have been in more or less perfect condition and to be fair, apart from the two faults mentioned it is.

The sale was pretty painless and I found Veloces easy to deal with. I would have no worries buying from them again.

A galleon

No experience other than browsing the ads - they always seem to be charging absolute top dollar and that's always put me off even going for a sniff when I've been in London for the day.
