knightjp, I can ask him to make another set, if I can sourse a set of cheap standard tail lights, but since I am not from UK, shipping will cost a bit, around 20-25 GBP.
I have no problem doing that, but might not be worth it for you, cost wise.
Then you will need the load resistors to get rid of the blown bulb error.
Alternatively, you might be able to find an electronist locally that can make them for you locally, it's not a complicated job, just solder a about 200 LEDs on a PCB, one PWM for the brake lights, and put the PCB inside the tail lights.
Didn't have a chance to put the tails back on the car yet to take the pics, but will do that for sure before next week.
typos, I think the round one would look weird. Each LED cannot be isolated in it's own mirror housing, like they are on OEM LED lights, so they would not light up as well defined as the OEM ones.
Plus, I do not like the Passat, Golf, etc, round rear lights in a square housing.
As for the low consmption of the LEDs, I think you are not reading everything. Not even everything you write, lol.
The load resistors will draw the same power as the halogen bulbs, and without those the tutning lights will blink fast and blown bulb indicator will light up.
