147 jtd starter motor help

Hello, my first ever breakdown after 70k miles and 5 years!

anyway, battery works, power gets to starter motor but not turning over at all. so I'm thinking starter motor is required. I'm not a mechanic, is this an easy job for myself or a more experienced friend? or is it one of them inevitable garage jobs

Many thanks

I think you could probably do it yourself but you may be surprised as to the amount of dissasembly that may be required. I did the alternator at christmas and according to EPER I needed to take out most of the top of the engine, I managed to do it from below without removing anything off of the top. The starter is in a similar place but depends if it will drop through the hole between engine and bulkhead. I've not done it but somone on here will know.
