This is a new post to follow on from a problem I have discussed here
I have already changed the cam cover gasket in order to stop a leak. Although I am confident it was leaking, there appears to be another leak.
The attached photographs show oil is collecting around the exhaust manifold; In one picture you can see how oil is sitting in the crease between the manifold and the cylinder head; it is also collecting on the heads of 2 of the fastening bolts holding the manifold in place. In the other image, you can see that oil is collecting in a crease between the exhaust outlets for the 3rd and 4th cylinders.
The final destination of this oil seems to be the join between the block and the cylinder head. The oil seems to be pretending to be from a leaky head gasket, but surely; if the oil is appearing that high up, and it is not the rocker gasket, it must be the exhaust manifold, right?
Any suggestions as to how I fix this problem would be greatly appreciated.
Is it just a case of removing the exhaust fixings and replacing the sealant, or is there something else it could be.
As usual, all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
