I had the same concerns myself, my previous cars being...

BMW Z4 (2.5)
Porsche Boxster S (3.4)
Audi RS4 (4.2)

I've had the GT for a month (its just over a year old) and had it remapped so it is now delivering about 290 lb ft of torque and 170bhp (rolling road tested). I'm not at all disappointed with how the car drives, although I do think that the Q2 diff would be a good investment now that I've got to drive it a bit.

I think the car looks amazing and it does have enough grunt to shift when it needs to.

I will shortly have a Caterham 7 in the garage to keep it company (I can't resist having something a bit less practical) but the GT will be my main driver for a long time...
