Squealing clutch release bearing - lube?
It's winter down here (NZ), and so the clutch release bearing has started squealing again intermittently until the car warms up (1998 156 TS manual, 146,000km).
- How much of a problem is this? Is it likely to suddenly die, or do it for years?
- Is there any point in trying to get some lube to the bearing - it seems like it might be possible through the opening in the bellhousing where the bleed point for the slave cyclinder is? Obviously would need to be done carefully to avoid getting anything near the plate...
Any comments welcomed.
