HELP! what to do, 156 or GTV
ok i have a 02 plate 1.8 156 with 58000 ont he clock it's about tude for it's service and cambelt change, but i've spotteda gorgeous GTV on ebay which has had all the following work done
This GTV is the Phase 2 model, with the revised interior, chrome Alfa grille and other body updates. It's fitted as standard with aircon / climate control, electric windows and mirrors, alarm/immobiliser, central locking, ABS brakes, power steering, driver / passenger airbags and alloy wheels.
The car has covered just 87k miles with detailed service history from 16k miles, right up to date. It's supplied with a folder containing a substantial number of bills and itemised service information, in addition to previous MOTs. When you read through it, you'll see that there are invoices for regular services and it quickly becomes clear that no expense has been spared on this car - one of the invoices is for over £1700!
In Sept 2009 the car had a full cambelt replacement (cambelt, balancer shaft belt, variator etc), in addition to new spark plugs, rear brake pads, a new wheel bearing (rear) and new crank and cam seals. The total bill for this work was over £600. The records show that the cambelt has been changed at least twice before.
The car has also benefitted from a recent full exhaust system, a new clutch and a new radiator.
The MOT expires at the end of January 2011 and the car will not require taxing until November 2010. There were no advisories issued on the latest MOT.
The car has been HPi checked (on 16th May 2010) and it is completely clear.
Now my question is do i keep my 02 156 and get the work done, or do i go for this gorgous GTV the only downside being it's only a 1999 T Reg
