Mystery oil leak on 147
I did a service on my wife's 147 1.6TS last week. Everything went to plan, and it all looks great except for a small oil leak I noticed, which appears to have nothing to do with the engine.
The aircon condenser - is that a coiled pipe on the offside front, low down? - it was showing signs of oil dripping off the elbow joint at the bottom of the coil. The pipe was contaminated from oil further up and it had obviously gradually wept down the pipe. Adjacent to the engine block, on one of the aircon pipes, is a little ribbed rubber block, which looks like it is a rubbing strip to prevent the pipe chaffing against the inner wing. This has oil on it. The pipe is dry above this. The side of the engine facing this pipe is as dry as a bone. No oil is getting thrown around by the pulleys.
So where is it coming from? The only other component in the vicinity is the engine mount which holds up the support arm on the lower front right of the engine. Is this oil-filled by any chance? And if so, can it leak?
Any advice greatly appreciated!
