156 2.0T - Engine rev cut off / power loss!?
I have a 2000 Alfa Romeo 156 2.0T which is driven about 98.000 Km.
It has been serviced well over the years, I bought it few months ago and did
not have any problems to begin with. Two weeks ago I took it for a drive to
the country side and drove around 100-150 km. Stopped for 20 minutes, but
after I started the car again it was very strange, it idled ok but when I gave it
gas it was stalling allot (the power dropped time after time when it was accelerating).
It does not lose power when it idles and starts fine every day. However it feels like it is could have more power. It does not lose power or stall when braking / slowing down
at intersections (it is at least not very noticeable)..
I have no information for spark plug renewal in the car so one idea might be that
the problem is the spark plugs.
But from earlier experience (from other cars) and from what I have been reading
here it might also be the Mass AirFlow Sensor (MAF).
Another thing, when I am driving on the motorway at 110 Km/h (in 5th gear) the engine is in around 3000 rpm. Is that more then usual?
Look forward to hear what you think!
