147 - immobiliser fail any suggestions
Hi there, i popped out to the DIY store, air con on full when the car died on the dual carriageway and failed to restart.
Definately had fuel, and the recovery guy seemed to think the pump was working and priming, or trying to prime.
Checked the fuel cut-off/reset switch and pressed that a few times.
The main reported problem seemed to be code U1600 (immobiliser failure), but others were coming up probably due to the battery going flat.
After a recharge, i've tried disconnecting the battery for a few hours, connecting the battery connectors together, took the steering column off to check the little aerial was still connected.
I've also used an OBD tool to reset the error and check for others. The immobiliser fail message has stopped coming up and i briefly had a 'speed sensor fail' message.
I still can't get the car to start, but will try the other key one the GF retrieves it from her friends house tonight.
I've also tried checking for loose connections in general, but dont know where the immobiliser is to look in more detail. Girlfriend also commented that it's done it before in cold weather conditions.
Any suggestions on the next step... magic 'kiss of life' tricks, phone numbers to call?
