Air Con - Cool vs Colder!
So as everyone knows it's got hot!
The past week or so has seen me fire up the air conditioning in anger for the first time in a while, and I have noticed a bit of a problem!
First off, since owning the car I have not had the air con re-gassed nor has any previous owner as far as I am aware. Second, those of you with 147's and maybe GT's will be familiar with the vent layout on the main dashboard, so imagine looking at the dashboard looking from left to right, you have......
Vent 1 - Passenger seat left
Vent 2 - Central Console left
Vent 3 - Central Console upper
Vent 4 - Central Console right
Vent 5 - Driver seat right
Vent 6 - Rear Passenger seat
So I have the temp on 'Lo', Air Con switched on, and the fan on full.
The problem seems to be that vents: 1/2/3/6 blow very cold. I.e. the air con is chilling the air as it should. However, vents 4 and 5 blow cool, not cold! In effect, the passenger and rear passengers would be chilling nicely and I would be cool!
It's important to say the 'force' of the air is the same across all vents, however the temperature is notably different!
Does this point to a need to 're-gas' the system?
Or could it be a different problem?
Ill try and take a picture of the dash tomorrow morning to help explain!
