Had a look today to see if the 'new' turbo to intercooler hose was indeed new and it would appear that it is. However, at the turbo end there was a lot of soot and black goo. I noticed that it had been slid up too far and was over the little nodule at the top with a slight gap. Took it off to inspect it for leaks or damage, and other than being quite sooty inside, it was fine.
Thought it would be wise to inspect the top hose too, so removed the battery to have a look and feel around it. It seemed fine too.
As the car had been left with the negative lead disconnected for a while I thought I would try to do the ECU reset, so after re-attaching everything, including the bottom hose, I turned the key to II, left it for a minute or so, then started it up.
It now seems to be pulling like it used to, with little or no black smoke to speak of.
Have I 'cured' it?
Oh and is the MAF the Bosch module thingy behind the battery? Thought it might be but wasn't sure so didn't disconnect it.
And thanks for all of your help
