Im not mad but............ does anyone know if its possible to remove the water pump from a V 156 CF3 without disturbing the cambelt!!
Just looking at the exploded drawings it looks possible to undo the water pump bolts and rotate it about 90 degrees and wiggle it past the belt.
The reason im thinking about it is because my water pump has a very slight hum / whistle from about 2000 rpm up (no leaks-but sound like a quiet supercharger!) but was replaced with cambelt etc not that long (20000m) ago. Also has the tiniest amount of movement at the pulley but this is barely detectable so maybe within tolerences. So I dont want to change everything if I can avoid it.
Can it be done and has anyone done it!
