Headlights blowing fuse???

I have a problem with my alfa 156,I only bought it a week ago,and have not driven it at night much.It has been fine for a week now everytime I put my headlights on the fuse that operates all dash items, rev counter, speedo, petrol gauge, etc and front electric windows blows, the headlights however remain on.Any ideas as to what could be causing this??the fuse concerned is right up inside the dash and very hard to get to and change, none of the fuses in the main fusebox are blowing??some help would be much appreciated.......

What rating is the fuse that's blowing? Maybe the wrong one was fitted.

Or maybe there's something in the dash blowing the fuse. The rev counter (which holds the bulb-out warning circuitry) is a known weak-point. Maybe you have an extreme variation on that problem?

Hi the fuse in question is a 10amp,im not sure if it should be or not??
Ive heard that a dodgy rev counter can cause problems but why would my headlights affect this???

Hi, this is a pretty random post but.....! Had a similar problem with a 2.0TS Selespeed a couple of years ago - whilst I could never trace the fault it only ever happened if I put the lights on before pulling away from a standstill. If I had the car rolling and into second gear, then put the headlights on, it never happened again....Any help?
