weird noise - especially evident when clutch reaches biting point (147 1.6)
i am gradually getting used to my new car but seem to have a couple of niggly things that i don't know if they are normal or not.
the main concern at the moment is like a deep knocking or tut tut tut sort of noise, this is especially evident when pulling off in 1st gear or reversing. i decided to test by parking up and putting handbrake on, then gently lifting clutch, as it gets to the bite point the the noise starts, as soon as i press my foot back to the floor it disappears again. although this is evident more when pulling off etc, i sometimes hear it faintly whilst driving (but only a knock or 2 every so often), usually at lower speeds. i'm a bit worried any ideas on if something is knackered or if its just someething vibrating in the engine?
the second noise which im not as worried about is more of a rattle and can hear it when parked up at idle, seems to be coming from the pulleys to the left of the engine, should this happen, any easy fix at all?
finally - mpg - just a quick one, i filled up with about 30 litres (£45ish) and i have only been town driving, so stopping starting, but after 40 miles the petrol gauge has dropped from 3/4 mark to 1/2 tank mark - that seems a lot of fuel for so little miles :-(
