Rust and underbody rust proofing

My Alfa 156 is W reg and whilst the paintwork looks great and the interior is spotless, the underbody has started to battle with rapid rusting...had to get two welding jobs done recently. Am thinking about underbody rust proofing..Any thoughts, suggestions? Am I wasting my time and money? Is it time to scrap it?
I live in Derby and found a couple of shops near Stoke on Trent who will do rust proofing for circa 350. Is this an okay price? Is it worth it?
Thanks in advance

Best way forward would be jack up car put on axle stands, get the wire brush out or better still wire brush attachment on drill and take back problem areas to bare metal. Then treat with Hammerite cure rust, then red oxide paint, then optional under seal layer and lastly most importantly waxoyl two good layers!

All seems very time consuming but worth it, remember to give the whole under body a couple of coats of waxoyl great stuff.

Hope that helps
