Hello. Well I tried the Fiat ECUscan today, succesfully I think. The only error is the Fan Relay 1 which it attributes to blocked fan (not so), short circuit, bad earth or ecu not receiving a signal. Used the actuator feature to try to start fan. Message received was 'execution failure'. When I disconnected the coolant sensor the ecu noted the interuption of signal so I presume that the coolant sensor is functioning. This, I think, means the fan not working lies between the ecu, relay, resistor (currently bypassed by 30A fuse) and fan. If I apply a positive from the battery to the pos. fan, should it work without necessity for me to run an earth back to battery and if it didn't, would that indicate a bad fan earth? Multimeter across the relay socket is 8.9V on the control spades. This is without the sensor disconnected or the engine switch on MAR - no change to this when on MAR or when coolant sensor cable disonnected - constant 8.9V? This voltage is not sufficient to complete power circuit - with 12V from battery direct - this is enough, which suggests a weak signal from the ecu? I'm just totally confused by all this.... nothing new
