Sport Air filter on 156 GTA
Well Sunday afternoon I was a bit bored so....
Opened the GTA bonnet and manual and removed the pipe between the engine and the air box, took off the lid of the air box and there as far as I can tell was the same stock air filter as I used to have in my 1.8 156.
Whipped that out and put a nice cleaned and re-oiled AutoDelta filter that I took out of the veloce before I traded it in..
put everything back together, it's a bit of a tight squeeze.
impressions are nothing major but it seems to take up a little easier a little less hesitation when accelerating at low revs i.e. less of a need to use the right foot, I think economy might be up slightly, we'll see.
I've not had her out for a major blast yet, but did have her on the motorway this morning - I'm sure she feels better but it may be expectation. it's got to be better though if the 1.8 improves with more air / replacing the oe filter the same must hold true for the GTA replacing that self same filter....
