Selespeed 2nd to 3rd crunch

I have an 2002 156 sw 2.0ts selespeed and its started to crunch when changing up from 2nd to 3rd, its more noticeable when the engines warm and at higher revs and does not do it at all while the engine is cold, a friend has recommended that i change the ATF, and i understand that Tutela CS Speed should be used, does anyone have any other ideas as to what it might be? The ATF level is fine and the car has only covered 33k, and there are no other problems with the car or gearbox. Also does anyone know how much oil the system needs to change it, and the best place to get it from, thanks.

The tutella is only for the hydraulic actuator system. The gearbox itself is a manual box, and uses normal gearbox oil. I can never remember the grade or quantity though. 2 litres, I think.... Halfords sell it.

There's a good chance that changing the gearbox oil will help (it's supposed to be done every 12,000 miles IIRC). It could be a sign that your synchro is on the way out though.

EDIT: 75W90 GL5, apparently:

Put it in the gearbox, not the Sele reservoir
