Whatís your suspension ride height?
Iím looking to upgrade the springs and dampers on my GT 3.2 for a firmer more controlled ride and suitable for the odd trackday, but I donít want to lower it any more than it already is. I have several speed bumps to contend with on the street I live on so lowering it is best avoided.
All the suspension kits Iíve looked at all lower the ride height and most quote a lowering of 30mm. This wouldnít be suitable for me, however I have noticed some of the quoted lowering heights are for the standard 147 & 156 models and I believe my GT 3.2 is already lowered from the 147/156 as factory standard. So if my GT is already lowered from a standard 147/156, letís say by 25mm, the lowering kit will only drop it 5mm. Which is close to what Iím looking for, but Iím not sure about my 25mm assumption.
Therefore I would like to survey 147/156/GT ride heights standard and lowered to work out which way to go. The idea is to create a data base of ride heights for anyone looking to modify their suspension. If you would like to participate and create a ride height database please measure your car and list details as follows:
Model: GT 3.2v6
Suspension: Standard (if lowered or uprated state kit used)
Tyre size: 225/40R18
Front ride height: 660mm
Rear ride height: 670mm
Measure the front and rear ride heights from the ground to the top centre of the wheel arches with the car on level ground.
Thank you for your assistance. Bryn
