Bought me a K&N to replace my existing airfilter. I've been coating the screws that hold the airfilter cover on in WD40 for the best part of a week.
So I've taken the pipe off the top of the MAF, removed the relays for extra access but I can't get the bloody retaining screws out, the things have corroded that much there is no longer a bolt head to attach a socket too.
Is there a way I can easily remove the airbox so I can have full access to the offending items, without having to strip parts off the car? Or does someone know some special tricks to getting around my situation?
I've also go an issue with an Airbag error. I stalled the 156 (JTS, 2002) as I was driving over a speed bump, the airbag light came on and I'm looking for a solutiion to turing it off (Black sticker is not the answer!)
I've read that Rarebear sells the lead required, does anyone know if he still sells them? I'm going to get me Alfadiag and a laptop so that I can start to have a tinker, but I am after getting hold of a lead first............. is there a EBAY option which can do the job, via minor modification, and does not cost £24.99, or am I kidding myself and I should just buy the lead recommended by Alfadiag?
The other option I have is hoping a friendly AO Alfitsi lives not too far away, and could assist me in re-setting the offending light (My location being Ellesmere Port), and seeing if any other gremlins are hiding in my ECU (Stella reward for assistance!
Many thanks for reading my building up of issues, I'm determined to get things right and enjoy every minute of my Alfa.
See you all on the Welsh 100 Alfa run next weekend, hopefully with K&N and no Airbag light.
