Just to wakeup an old post…I’ve done a test with GPS to clear some questions…and I was right…with 225/45-17’’ I have more accurate speed on the speedometer!
With my old 215/45-17’’ (and no mods) I’ve done 215km/h on the speedo…and now with 225/45-17’’ and all my mods…“I only do” +- 212km/h…but cause my speedo is more accurate, I didn’t know how much was the real top speed!
I’ve checked with a GPS from a friend of mine…and the result was…208km/h…in strait line!
If we compare with official announced top speed of 195km/h…I think 208km/h is not a bad result…curious it’s same as announced for the 2.0TS (150HP)
BTW, I’ve done some drag tests…and 225/45-17’’ contributes a lot for lost of performance!
They are too large and tall for a simple 1.6TS…that was my conclusion!
But in curves they give no chance to the others…but if you want good 0-100 times and top speed…maybe the best size for 17’’ wheels…is 205/40-17’’…or 205/45-17’’ at least…cause with 225/45-17’’ make the car too slow to overcome and 5º gear too long!
For example…I make 200km/h in 4º gears at 8000rpm…then the 5º gears I almost don’t use…only to strait long roads…or downhill…
But my test was also done with MIL error and car is not using corrected modified maps…maybe with MIL off I can do more I don’t know!
Here are another pics with my “Bella” giving 8000rpm and all lights (and error) on…
…was taken for my new signature.
