Now Gentleman, a teaser question!! Alfa 156jtd cutting out
I have a jtd 156 2.4.Recently it has began playing up.I had left it into a local "Specialist" to have the timing belt replaced, as well as a new fuel sender unit fitted..Previous to this it had been cutting out, and then starting again after a couple of cranks.although I thought it was just a random fault
When i got it back from the "Expert" he claimed the fuel pressure sensor was faulty as well as the MAF sensor, he had disconnected both these sensors. They had apparently shown as a fault in the computer. The car drove home, though it sounded like a tractor! it didn't cut out again though!
After getting a fuel sensor (from flea bay) and fitting it (and a new crank sensor) the car ran for a bit really well, and then cut out again. It starts after a couple of turns but then stops again.
When it runs it runs well with plenty of power.
But if you disconnect the pressure sensor it runs, and drives although is down on power.it never cuts out?
i am pulling my hair out!.. what do you think it is?
Would the second pressure sensor be faulty? or is it something else with the fuel system?
