I do a lot of commuting, 30K miles last year, slightly less this year with homeworking days. All of my tyres wore heavily on the inside edge. After 30K the rears were nearly bald on the inside 25mm of the tyre but around 4mm on the outside. Fronts only lasted 10K or so before the inside edges were < 1.6mm. Wear was worse on the passenger side. Tyres were Toyo's T1R's on the rear and CF1's on the front, I dread to think how long the T1R's would have lasted on the front, probably not much more than 7K.
I don't have any suspension play but have now had 4-wheel alignment along with a set of Bridgestone Turanza ER300's. A less sporty tyre but more suitable given the mileage I'm doing, not too bad when pushing it through the corners, just not quite the same turn-in bite that the Toyo's had.
