overheating v6 puzzled
Hi in previous thread explained me 156 v6 was slightly over heating up 3/4 on gauge then fans cut in to cool it down top hose was getting hot straight away bottom hose remained cold, decided to change stat and radiator.
Ive changed stat and run water through rad didnt appear have any leaks and water flowed well through rad so doesnt seemed blocked so didnt bother to change it.
Filled with coolant and ran engine with cap off ,this time top hose got hot after engine reached about the 90 mark bubbled a bit out of expansion tank so replaced cap and when for a drive.
Now my question is the temp gauge seemed to be up and down slightly below and above the 90 mark heater blowing warm, is this normal could there still be air in system it hasnt gone above enough for fans to cut in just puzzled why its up and down???????
Oh one other thing when i removed return pipe from expansion tank before changing stat to check for flow to try and eliminate water pump it was only a very slow trickle is this normal or should the flow be quite fast
Any advice would be great Regards Paul
