Gearbox Problems Calling Time on the 156 :-(
I finally got my 156 JTS back with a shiny new 5th gear, clutch, release bearing and for good measure discs and pads all round and after 1 week of blissful driving I lost 4th gear amid a lot of noise which can only be described as a bad of spanners. This sound is now evident in all remaing forward gears but she still drives.
I have had a few problems through the years with this car but all in all now it is practically a new car:
Full Engine Rebuild 10k Ago (New belts the lot)
New Aux Belt, Fixed and Tensioner Pulleys, 500 miles ago
New disccs and pads all round - 500 miles ago
New rear shocks (standard) 1000miles ago
New drop links all round 500 miles ago
New front shocks (Standard - Unfitted with new pinch bolts)
New Windscreen - Last week
New Wishbones - Front ALL - 30k Ago
New Clutch, release bearing * pressure plate - 500 miles ago
So it is with regret and a looming company car that I have to call a stop to the spending. I am not sure what it wrong now but suspect a new box is required at least so if anyone is interested I will be putting the car on the classified section and e-bay either for sale as a whole or for parts depending on interest.
I am gutted, as despite the problems I still love the feeling you get when everything is working as it should.
Thanks to all for your help over with my many queries over the past few years!!
