I'm not convinced you always have to clear the airbag warning light using a laptop/cable..
Whilst it wasn't caused by flat battery, a few weeks back my (drivers) airbag light started coming on & off during driving (suspected an intermittent wiring fault), more recently it has been on permanently. But the other day i took the yellow connector apart under drivers seat, removed the terminals & manipulated them a bit so they had tighter fit with pins when reconnected. Whilst this didn't clear the airbag light straight away, a few days down the line it has gone off.
So i'm thinking if ur lucky & can actually fix the fault, a certain number of 'good' ignition cycles later, the fault will age/clear itself.
Interested to hear other opinions on that though?
