Hi, I only received my 2002 156 manual on wednesday and have not had a chance to drive it much since them, though when I did it went fine, the 1.5 hr drive home from the dealership was perfect, plenty of power ect.
Problem is I drive it 30km today and while it was good going into town, on the way home I had a few problems. When I accellerated at very low speeds the car felt like it was going to stall (like when you try and accelerate while in a gear thats too high for your speed) and there is a rattle (like a cv rattle when turning) but it happens constantly, at higher speeds the rattle only occasionally present but at 80km's/hr+ in 4th/5th it sounds like its over revving (I have no idea what its supposed to rev at at this speed I only know it sounds like it) and their is a feint burning smell if I use a lower gear to go up a rather steep hill and a very feint shuddering (can only hear it not feel it) in the back half of the car when cruising at high speed. Its a weird set of symptoms I know but I have not had the car long and Im not sure if its just the way I drive it or not, the gears seem to have higher range than my other manuals so maybe Im driving in the wrong gears? can someone help with what gear I should be in depending on revs ect. I dont want to blow up my car as I LOVE it, I am just terrified because of all the problems I have heard about 156's. thats why I got a manual not sillyspeed. I feel like crying now I think its going to stuff up on me after only 4 days and 3 drives. Maybe Im overeacting?
