warning light

hi folks...iv had my 156 sportswagon for few months and love it, last night my kids left radio on all nite so i woke to flat battery..got jump start but now warning light (orange) saying motor control system failure light on?...telling me to contact dealer, would this have anything to do with battery being flat or should i take to dealer soon?...advice much appriciated...tilly

more than likely caused by the flat battery, if it drives ok, no loss in power, noises etc. then take it for a drive, and it should go all by itself. that said after a few clean starts it should go to

Yes, more than likely.

Remove the battery, give it an overnight charge, and reconnect it.

If the battery is old, this might have killed it though. New battery required if so.

If this doesn't cure it, or the light doesn't go out after a few days, it'll need reset. With the right equipment, this is a diy job, or any garage should be able to do it
