156 losing water

Hi I have a 156

I have been having to top up my water once a week and temp gets really high but today once the engine had heated up water was coming from under the front of the car when I stopped the front bonnet drivers side was covered in water. I topped the water up before I went was driving for twenty mins and now its below minimum?

Anyone have any ideas ?

I had the same problem and when I got someone to look at it they pointed out that my radiator was knackered. All the fins were broken off it and there was a white residue from all the escaping water. Might be worth having it looked at.

Now ive got mine replaced the temp stays down and i hardly have to top up with water.

Good luck

Backwards flush the system inspect the radiator as suggested for the fins as these are often falling apart, also woth looking at the thermostat as I have had on jam shut. other than that it could be either the water pump or head gasket.

mine was like that, peeing water on the left side, the water pump was knackered, but i needed to keep driving it, for a few days before they could look at it, so i kept topping the water up.

went in, and doing the above, fooked my oil cooler

so be very careful, and dont drive it unless you have too

Most likely rad ... but the pumps do go eventually (mine took 127,000 miles though). That will be a cambelt replacement too ...
