I'm new to the forum and am on my first Alfa, an 05 plate 147 1.9 JTDm Lusso, its done 65,000 miles and until recently has been sound, probably the best car I've ever owned. Over the last 2 months I've been having different warning lights flashing up when I start the car, it started when the weather was very cold (-10) in Jan/Feb so I didnt think much of it when the EBD and ABS failure lights came on, I turned the engine off, left it a couple of secs and then started it again and it was fine. Over the last month though its been getting more frequent, and together with the EBD and ABS failure warnings, I've also have Engine Malfunction and the newest one which is the Immobiliser Failure which I've had for the last couple of days which means that when I start the car, it turns over, but doesnt start, then the dash flashes and says Immobiliz Failure. I've just done what Ive done before though, I've just turned the ignition off, left it 5 secs, then started it fine?
I've had a look at other threads and what people have said and I suspect the battery might be on its way out, but then I'm really not very technical so its hard for me to make assumptions etc.
If anyone has any ideas I'd appreciate it, I haven't been to a mechanic yet as I need the car for work and do a lot of miles and its a real sting to be without so while its still working and going I'm still driving it, however I'm aware that its getting more frequent and with the immobilizer issue now, its getting more serious.
Any ideas would be welcomed?
