thanks for everyone

Try and find a Solicitor who will not charge for the first meeting you have with him. Ask for his advice with regard to taking your case to the Small Claims Court.
Did you know that the 2nd key would be important? Were you told that there was a 2nd key? Did the advertisement or website say there was a 2nd key?
I think you need to answer these questions, at least to yourself. If you were told, or an advert or website stated there would be a 2nd key included, then you have a case because the key is as much a part of the car as a radio or CD player. But, in the case of a 2nd hand car there is no guarantee that a radio is included; unless it says so in the advert or website or you were told by the seller.
What a Solicitor may be able to tell you, is if it is reasonable to presume that a 2nd key comes with the car. If the answer is no, then you will have just have to resign yourself to going to an Alfa dealer and paying for one.
But, speak to a Solicitor first. If you look in your local paper, or Yellow Pages or Thompson Local you should be able to find one close to you who will provide you with your first appointment free. That way you will find out if your case is worth pursuing without costing you more in legal fees than the new key will cost you.
