Faulty parking sensors
When my GT got kicked up the backside the rear bumper, parking sensors, parking control unit, wiring etc were all replaced. 2 months after getting the car back the sensors started failing one by one until they all stopped working.
Back to the garage it went and 2 of the sensors were diagnosed as faulty and were replaced, I picked the car up and thought I'll just test each sensor myself and sure enough one of them which were replaced wasn't working.
The technician was baffled as they were all tested time and time again, with the last test being done just before I picked the car up. The only thing that had been done since the last test was they'd washed and polished the car ready for collection.
So yet more sensors are on order, the technician tells me that often moisture can get into the connectors as there is no waterproofing or sealant around the back of each sensor or the connector. Surely this can't be true.
Any thoughts on why they keep failing ?
Time and tide wait for no man.
