I'm writing on behalf of my sister, who has a lovely 147, which unfortunately the cam belt has just gone on it.
I've been told that it could cost £800 to repair, and even then it's likely to 'burn oil', apparently (small or large amounts of smoke from exhaust).
Could anyone advise me as to whether this is true??
Not sure what's the best way forward with this is really, spend the cash on repair or sell it as it is now, for half of what it was worth before.
I feel really sorry for her as she's always cleaning/polishing it, has oil change regularly. And I feel bad now because I feel I should have checked for her when it was last changed.
Any advice on what I could do with this would be appreciated.
By the way, it's a 1.6 petrol, with 67k miles, 2001 Y reg.
