156 jtd cam sensor change

I have a faulty sensor sensor on my 2001 2.4 jtd and was wondering if anybody knew a way to replace it without totally removing the timing belt as it was changed only 10000miles ago. Any help would be most welcome

I seem to remember reading a thread that said it could be done. It entailed lining up your timing marks then cable tying your timing belt to the pulley. Then PARTLY pulling the pulley off the shaft to give you enough room to remove the sensor.
I've never tried this and I would be wary of doing it as I don't know how difficult it would be to get the pulley back on whilst fighting the tension in the belt.
Somebody will be along shortly who will know more.
