OK here is an update, those of you who will have read my posts before will know that the whole front end of my car has had a complete overhaul. ALL suspension components have been changed including upper arms, lower arms, anti-roll bar, drop-links, struts, springs, top-mounts, engine mounts, steering rack, both outer track rod ends, new discs and pads. The list is endless, and to be honest I am now getting a bit sick of throwing money at this car.
I have now noticed that when pulling off my drive first thing in the morning I am getting a knock coming from the front right footwell area/front right wheel. If I wobble the steering, I also get the same knock and this can be felt through the steering wheel.
This indicates to me that there is play in the steering mechanism somewhere. I have also noticed that during heavy rain, and when the car hits a puddle on the left hand side of the road, the car will lurch uncontrolabley to the left. Yes, I understand that friction will do this, but I have never ever seen this before on a car this bad, and to be honest it does make the car completely unsafe to even drive in the wet weather because of this. Wheel alignment was reset a few weeks back after fittings new lower/upper arms and new anti-roll bar and links.
This leaves me two options. Either replace the inner track rods (that are available from EB spares) or possibly look at the wheel bearings - as mad as wheel bearings may sound in this situation - these are the only thing I haven't replaced!
Also the steering rack (OEM) was replaced around a year ago (10,000 miles ago).
