Looking for a 156, saw one today, have a few Q's

Hi all, first post.

I am looking to buy a 156. Probably a 2ltr defo a manual. Veloce or a Lusso, around an 03 plate, max 3k.

Anyway, I went to see one this morning that was fairly local to me, but have a couple of questions.

Firstly the SRS light was on constantly, is this common or anything to worry about?
Secondly, on tick over, and when running, occasionally it had a slight and split second miss, the guy reckoned HT leads??

Most worryingly however, when driving back, it came up for a couple of seconds. "Motor stop" or something, cannot exactly remember what, with "Go to Dealer". The warning went off after say 10 seconds.

Apart from the above it drove nice, couple of scratches etc but the guy wanted top money for it, and I am guessing not with the above faults, or are they simple fixes?

Years ago my Dad had a 164 and that used to come up STOP but drove fine.

Just want some general thoughts or other things to look out for.

Kind regards

find one without faults, otherwise youll be on here trying to find out whats up with it ,if its got faults price should reflect it ,

oh and no ht leads as such on these cars ,they are coil packs , and if its been misfiring for a while probably screwed cats up

my advice steer clear and get one with full documented history and had belts done by main or independant alfa dealer or your 3 grand will end up 4grand to have a right car
