Finally todays the day... Quick checklist please....
Finally today's the day that I can try to start fixing my engine. Got a bargain CF3 off ebay for just £31 (it has one damged big end) and this means I can now swap the top halves over to fix my blown follower and head.
I'm off to get a DTI and Cam Lock tool in a bit because obv the belt needs taking off and putting back on.
I don't have the ribe set to get the sump off my engine so I'm going to risk (not ideal but my situation dictates I need to risk) there being no metal in the bottom of the engine. I guess I'll be able to tell the likelihood when I get the head off.
So basically cam belt change and head swap... what should I look out for, what's going to be trickiest to do and anything else you experienced AO guys think I should be checking/looking at.
I have no choice but to get this engine to a running capacity even if it means it's not done strictly by the book as following a split from the g/f I can't use her car anymore and can't afford to lose my job too. S**t happens but it forces me to have to make it run and worry about proper fixes later.
My other concern is of course the ECU. I've been sent the ECU from the engine I bought as well as a manifold. How do I reset the ECU so I don't have issues with that?
