Fuel pump relay
156 1.9 JTDM
Today I managed to test the cars full potential in 1st, 2nd, 3rd gears.. the car pulls nice and strong in 2nd and 3rd.
but slips badly and suddenly in 1st gear after reaching 3000rpm and no feel to the throttle.
So I removed the MAF sensor connection and tried again and still the same.
I am now suspecting the 'fuel pump relay'. I understand they are used to initiate fuel pump to send fuel during the start of the engine.
But not sure if a bad fuel pump relay could affect the performance or in other words sending reduced amount of fuel than that is required on load.
Can I remove the relays to clean for any corrosion or loose contact issues. But afraid this will trigger fault code...?
any ideas pls...?
