Got out to the car this morning and the clutch went straight to the floor
. Car is now at my preferred indy getting checked out but suspects either master or slave cylinder. There was absolutely no indication of any impending doom over the weekend. Occasionally there was a little notch in the clutch travel, but this was intermittent and very infrequent so was going to get it checked out at next service, but never anything of any concern
Now - my question is this. The car was registered at the end of July '06, GT 1.9JTD with just 33,000 miles on the clock just now. Service history is complete and stamped up, with the last one done exactly one year ago at 24,500 miles (hence the reason I was getting it serviced again this week). Given that the car is low mileage and fully serviced I would like to attempt to get some kind of goodwill gesture from Alfa towards this (TBH would be perfectly happy with the cost of the part covered). Anyone have any advice as to how to go about this
To compound the problem, I also discovered that the warranty that was remaining on the car (dealer warranty) isn't worth the paper it's printed on as the previous supplying garage (was an Alfa franchise then - but not now and not the garage I bought the car from in December) hadn't bothered their *** registering the car with the office. So there is no record of the car on any system. $hit, creek and paddle . . . . . . . .
Help, as TBH am a bit ******ed off albeit I realise these things can happen.
Anyone from ARUK reading this - HELP!!!!
