I just bought my first Alfa, a 156 2.5 V6 Veloce Sportwagon on a 53 plate. It has the Bose hifi system with subwoofer in back - sounds great!
It's been fitted with a phone kit for a Nokia of some description; a cradle to the left of the centre console, a mic by the overhead interior lights and what the dealer told me was a 'bluetooth button'(?!) down by the gearstick.
My problem is I want to get the car hooked up with my iPhone - for hands-free and if pos playing music.
I have a Sony bluetooth & USB head unit salvaged from my previous car which did all this beautifully, but I'm not sure I want to fit this to the Alfa, partly because the existing original unit blends seamlessly with the whole centre console and inserting a garish Jap unit would spoil the look! ... And partly because the Bose system may well be better quality audio?
I believe it has a 200watt amp next to the subwoofer and various cross-overs etc, I don't know how easy or advisable it would be to fit the Sony into this system and whether this would improve or diminish the sound quality?
Just hoping there are some car stereo experts out there who may be able to offer some advice.
Sorry if this is the wrong type of question for this forum, I'm new here!
