Help Noise on cornering

I have just had a replacement gearbox and a new clutch fitted this week, but I have a new noise now. When I turn right, going round a roundabout for example, there is a distinct noise, like a tap tap tap, or as my seven year old says "it's like a clattering noise as if someone is under the car hitting it with a stick". The 'tap' tempo adjust depending on the speed of the car.

Any ideas?

Also, I have a habit of sitting with my hand on the gear stick, and since the box was replaced, the gear lever jumps forward about quarter of an inch each time I use the accelerator. Is this anything to worry about?

Get them to check it over, maybe a driveshaft has not been bolted up properly. You may also find this is the case with the rear mount.

Check first that the wheel bolts are torqued correctly........should be 110Nm. If that doesn't solve it, return to garage and get them to check the drive shaft couplings. Movement of the gearstick suggests a worn or loose engine mount.

Good luck.
