Rust? In this day and age?
Had the car in for a new tyre this morning. I never can resist the opportunity to have a look around the underneath of the car while it is up on a ramp. Wish I hadn't now. I spotted serious rust bubbles forming underneath the car somewhere around where the seats bolt through the floorpan. I suspect that if left I will have several holes in the floorpan in time for the next MoT. One a car that is under 5 years old this clearly can't be right.
There is no damage underneath at all, just what looks like poorly finished underseal treatment from the factory. The drivers side is fine, it's just the passenger side that seems to be affected. I am taking the car into the supplying dealer next week for their opinion with a view to raising a claim for faulty workmanship from the factory.
Any thoughts or insights about this? Do Alfa have a perforation warranty policy, if so how long does it last? Or should I just break out the anti-rust treatment and get stuck in?
