Some of the undersides of 147,156 and GTís are shocking, 159ís and Brera arenít much better, there has been some serious cost savings going on over the last few years and one of the savings has been underseal.
Obviously the cars living by the sea are worse but all are suffering
Very importantly if you chose to under seal you car you must remove the existing underseal and reveal all the rust, when treating the car it is possible using straight forward Hammerite or Waxoil could make it worse not better as before using these products it is important to use some form of rust inhibiter
Not a nice subject but must not be ignored
Do Autolusso offer an underseal removal & re-seal service?
Had a word with Jamie Porter yesterday. He's seen quite a few cars coming though with iffy undersealing. He offered to fix the rust by bringing the affected areas back to metal with a wire brush and applying copious amounts of underseal. He was suggesting a price of around seventy quid for doing it, but recommended holding off until late summer. Sounds like a plan to me.
