airbag light

Hi Folks

does anyone know how to reset the airbag light or any diy service proceedures for the airbag. i have had the car (156 ts 1.8) for ayear and it about to go for an MOT. Sure this is a failure item.

Air bag light ISN'T an MOT fail. They can't test the airbag system so they can't fail you for it. They might put it on an advisory note though.

You can reset it with AlfaDiag and a modified VAGCOM cable ortherwise it will be a trip to the dealer and hooked up to their diag system (and the associated cost!).

Turned my airbag light off with a modded cable and Unidiag which is free.Someone on here who has Alfadiag or Unidiag might be willing to help you.

It is soon going to be an NCT fail in Ireland, not sure if there is a date set for it yet.

I wouldn't use UniDiag, but FiatECUScan...both free, just google em.

UniDiag's fine, but FiatECUScan is easier to use if you're not used to it and simpler too. Easier to reset the airbag light that's for sure, but it's pretty new for the airbag stuff, so most people are still suggesting UniDiag (which is fine too)
